NUMBER FIVE: HUMILITY AND PRIDE

We all know that pride kills faster than sickness because it destroys relationship between God and human. Pride will make you say, you don’t need God, or you can handle it yourself even when you know that you can absolutely achieve nothing on your own and the truth is, you desperately need God in all your endeavors. Depending on yourself or human being varies because some will definitely disappoint you while some will stand by you no matter what the circumstances might be but it’s very important to pray, so that God will send the satisfactory human that will help you to fulfill your Devine purpose. 

Remember men look outwardly while only God can see both inwardly and outwardly, so there won’t be mistakes or heartbreaks if you allow God to choose for you. Philippians 3:3 (it is we, not they, that have received the true circumcision, for we worship God by means of His Spirit and rejoice in our life in union with Christ Jesus. We do not put any trust in external ceremonies). 

The true definition of humility is to put our total confidence in the Lord our God. Ephesians 6:10 (finally build up your strength in union with the Lord and by means of His mighty power). Proverbs 3:3–7 (3, never let go of loyalty and faithfulness. Tie them around your neck; write them on your heart. 4, if you do this, both God and people will be pleased with you. 5, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. 6, remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the right way. 7, never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the Lord and refuse to do wrong).

James 4:6–10 (6, but the grace that God gives is even stronger. As the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble”. 7, so then, submit yourself to God. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you. 8, come near to God, and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites! 9, be sorrowful, cry, and weep; change your laughter into crying, your joy into gloom! 10, humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up). 

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, You have said that pride goes before destruction and an arrogant spirit before a fall. I confess that I have been thinking mainly of myself and not of others. I have not denied myself, picked up my cross daily and followed You. As a result, I have given ground to the devil in my life. I have sinned by believing I could be happy and successful on my own. I confess that I have placed my will before Yours and have centered my life around myself instead of You.

I repent of my pride and selfishness and pray that all ground gained in my members by the enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ would be canceled. I choose to rely on the Holy Spirit’s power and guidance as I will do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind I will regard others as more important than myself. And I choose to make You, Lord, the most important of all in my life. Please show me now all the specific ways in which I have lived my life in pride. Enable me through love to serve others and in honor to prefer others. I ask all of this in the gentle and humble name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.

As you have made your commitment to God through the above prayer and trust God to show you the areas in which pride have ruled in your life. 

The listed examples below will help you in making the right declarations.

􏰀 Having a stronger desire to do your will than God’s will 􏰀 Leaning too much on your own understanding and experience rather than seeking God’s guidance through prayer and His Word 􏰀 Relying on your own strengths and abilities rather than depending on the power of the Holy Spirit 􏰀 Being more concerned about controlling others than in developing self-control 􏰀 Often being too busy doing “important” things to take time to do little things for others 􏰀 Having a tendency to think that you have no needs 􏰀 Finding it hard to admit when you’re wrong 􏰀 Being more concerned about pleasing people than pleasing God 􏰀 Being concerned about getting the credit you feel you deserve 􏰀 Thinking you are more humble, spiritual, religious, or devoted than others 􏰀 Being driven to obtain recognition by attaining degrees, titles or positions 􏰀 Often feeling that your needs are more important than another’s needs 􏰀 Considering yourself better than others because of your academic, artistic, or athletic abilities or accomplishments 􏰀 Other ways you have thought more of yourself.

Choose the above points which are true in your life and pray.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I agree I have been proud in ______. Thank You for forgiving me for my pride. I choose to humble myself before You and others. I choose to place all my confidence in You and none in my flesh. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Lucifer’s was the master of pride, and divisions are his main strategy because once he set people against each other, he conquers them but thanks be to God in Christ Jesus, we have received the ministry of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19 (our message was that God was making all human beings His friends through Christ. God did not keep an account of their sins, and He has given us the message which tells  how He makes them His friends).

Ephesians 2:14–18 (14, for Christ Himself has brought us peace by making Jews and Gentiles one people. With His own body, He broke down the wall that separated them and kept them enemies. 15, He abolished the Jewish law with its commandments and rules, in other to create out of the two races one new people in union with Himself, in this way making peace. 16, by His death on the Cross, Christ destroyed their  enmity; by means of the Cross He united both races into one body and brought them back to God.17, so Christ came and preached the good news to all—-to you Gentiles, who were far away from God and to the Jews who were near to Him. 18, it is through Christ that all of us Jews and Gentiles, are able to come in the one Spirit in the presence of the Father. 19, so then, you Gentiles, are not foreigners or strangers any longer, you are now citizens together with God’s people and members of the family of God. 20, you, too, are built upon the foundation laid by apostles and prophets, the cornerstone being Christ Jesus Himself). 

Most times we deny that there is prejudice or bigotry in our hearts, yet “nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Remember it is only to God all creatures will render/give accounts and we know that everything is uncovered/laid bare before Him.

The below prayer will help you to ask God to shine His light upon your heart and reveal any areas of prideful prejudice.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I know that You love all people equally and that You do not show favoritism but You accept men from every nation who fear You and do what is right. You do not judge people based on skin color, race, ethnic background, gender, denominational preference or any other worldly matter. I confess that I have too often prejudged others or regarded myself as superior because of these things. I have not always been a minister of reconciliation but have been a proud agent of division through my attitudes, words and deeds. I repent of all hateful bigotry and prideful prejudice and I ask You, Lord, to now reveal to my mind all the specific ways in which this form of pride has corrupted my heart and mind. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For each area of racial or ethnic prejudice, gender superiority or denominational bigotry that the Lord brings to mind, pray the following prayer aloud from your heart:

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I confess and renounce the prideful sin of prejudice against ____. I thank You for Your forgiveness, Lord, and ask now that You would change my heart and make me a loving agent of reconciliation with _______. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

FREEDOM IN CHRIST: SUBMISSION AND REBELLION

NUMBER FOUR: SUBMISSION AND REBELLION

The world we are living in today seems to be a rebellious generation since most people only obeys the law/authorities when it’s convenient for them and it becomes extremely difficult to respect the government. Most times those in government authorities makes it difficult to respect or obey the law hence most of them violate the laws and neglect the integrity of human rights, which makes everyone guilty of the law. Though God place the leaders for protecting its citizens but most of them have robbed its citizens the freedom of speech or doing what they liked.

The Christian duties are to respect everyone, love other believers, honor God, and respect the Emperor). 1 Peter 2:17. 

However, rebellious against God and His commandments are sins some Christians easily commit and in return give the devil an opportunity to attack. To keep the devil at bay, Christians must be ready to submit to God and His authorities which is the only solution to freedom in Christ. Though not only does the outward appearance of submission is a enough guarantee to achieve freedom in Christ but the sincerity submission from the heart is what God required of Christians. In submitting to God wholeheartedly, the devil will not gain any ground to attack when Christians because they genuinely stands under God’s authority. And Christians are required to respect/admonish those God have places over them. 

There is nothing as obedience as to pray for those in authority and submit to them. 1 Timothy 2:1&2 (1, first of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be offered to God for all people. 2, for kings and all others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life with all reverence towards God and with proper conduct). Romans 13:1–7 (1, everyone must obey state authorities, because no authority exists without God’s permission, and the existing authorities have been put there by God. 2, whosoever opposes the existing authority opposes what God has ordered; and anyone who does so will bring judgement on himself. 3, for rules are not to be feared by those who do good, but by those who do evil. Would you like to be unafraid of those in authority? Then do what is good and they will praise you, 4, because they are God’s servants working for your own good. But if you do evil, then be afraid of them, because their power to punish is real. They are God’s servants and carry out God’s punishment on those who do evil. 5, for this reason, you must obey the authorities—not just because of God’s punishment, but as a matter of conscience. 6, that is also why you pay taxes, because the authorities are working for God when they fulfill their duties. 7, pay, then, what you owe them, pay them your personal and property taxes, and show respect and honor for them all).

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, You have said in the Bible that rebellion is the same thing as witchcraft and as bad as idolatry. I know I have not obeyed You in this area and have rebelled in my heart against You and against those You have placed in authority over me. Thank You for Your forgiveness of my rebellion. By the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that all ground gained by evil spirits in my life due to my rebellion would be canceled. I pray that You would show me all the ways I have been rebellious. I choose now to adopt a submissive spirit and a servant’s heart. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.

The lifestyle of a Christian must be clearly an act of faith and submitting to established God’s lines of authorities, though sometimes it might be difficult, harsh or lacks kindness. And If those in authority breaks or abuse the law which God ordained for the protection of innocent people, then seeking help from a higher authority is required for absolute protection. The laws in each state/country varies depending on the offense/abuse, there are some which needs to be reported to the police while some to government agencies. For example, if there are frequent abuse on insecurity, physically assault, mentally abuse, rape, child’s abuse, emotional abuse or sexual harassment, there is need to involve local agencies for counseling and also helping to deal with the situation.

Incase those in authority uses their position to force you to disobey God’s instructions which will compromise your commitment/faith to God, then you must choose to obey God rather than man. Acts 4:19&20 (19, but Peter and John answered them, “you yourself judge which is right in God’s sight—to obey you or to obey God. 20, for we cannot stop speaking of what we ourselves seen or heard). Do not think an authority is disobeying the law because what is required of you does not match your desire/interest. As Christians, adopting a humble spirit and submitting to one another in the fear of God are essential and there are written laws to protects and educate the people and there are God’s instructions to Christians to help them in their daily lives. Ephesians 5:21 (submit yourselves to one another because of your reverence for Christ). 

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I confessed that I have been rebellious toward the authorities. Thank You for forgiving my rebellion. I choose now to be submissive and obedient to Your Word. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

FREEDOM IN CHRIST: FORGIVENESS AND BITTERNESS

Hello 👋 friends, we hope you have been enjoying our post.. We are still discussing our FREEDOM IN CHRIST.

NUMBER THREE: FORGIVENESS AND BITTERNESS 

The devil is an architect of holding advantage of Christians when they fail to render forgiveness and the Bible instructs Christians to get rid of bitterness. Let the Holy Spirit remind you those you need to forgive as God have forgiven you in Christ Jesus. 

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I thank You for the riches of Your kindness, forbearance and patience toward me, knowing that Your kindness has led me to repentance. I confess that I have not shown that same kindness and patience toward those who have hurt me. Instead, I have held on to my anger, bitterness and resentment toward them. Please bring to my mind all the people I need to forgive in order that I may do so now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Write down those names that you remembered and sometimes you might be holding grudges against yourself for the poor choices you have made in the past, thereby punishing yourself, so your name must be included because you must forgive yourself first. Including yourself means accepting the truth that God have forgiven you in Christ and in so doing, you can forgive yourself too. If you harbors any negative thoughts against God, maybe when you wanted Him to show up, He didn’t, those feelings of anger/resentment towards God can be a partition between you and God, so you must kill those feelings.

Remember forgiveness does not mean forgetfulness and once you choose to forgive those who intentionally hurt, use or despise you, the Holy Spirit will begin His healing process in your life though the pain won’t go away the same time but surely your journey to your freedom has begun. Though forgiveness is a choice or decision and you might find it difficult to forgive because of what you have suffered and naturally most people will prefer revenge but since God wants us to forgive one another, you have no choice rather than obeying God’s instructions. Romans 12:19 (never take revenge, my friends, but instead let God’s anger do it. For the scripture says, I will take revenge, I will payback says the Lord). Allow God to deal with anyone that hurt you intentionally and by forgiven them, you have let them off you hook but they are not off God’s hook. Remember He is God of justice and definitely everyone will receive their reward fairly and justified. Christ knows the damages they have caused you but He asked you to forgive, though you can’t turn back the hands of time but you can definitely be free from it and the only way to your freedom is through FORGIVENESS.

Remember forgiveness is an obedience to God and it simply means agreeing to live with the consequences of another person’s sin. Though whether you forgive or not, you will still live with the consequences but the choice is yours if you will do so in the bondage of bitterness or in the freedom of forgiveness. It might be unfair but no one truly forgives without accepting and suffering the pain of another person’s sin and the justice can be found on the Cross of Calvary, which makes forgiveness legally and normally right. On the Cross, Jesus took the consequences of sins upon Himself. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made Him share our sin in other that in union with Him we might share the righteousness of God). As Christians, you might be temporarily suffering the consequences of other people sin which is simply a harsh reality of life, but you have to face it. Remember Jesus Himself forgives those who crucified Him as an account even when they are mocking and jeering Him, Luke 23:34 (forgive them, Father! They don’t know what they are doing).

Let go of the bitterness and let God begin to heal the damaged emotions. Remember forgiveness means choosing not to hold someone’s sin against them anymore and you must let go of the past and choose to reject any thoughts of revenge. Once you choose to forgive, Satan will have lost his power over you in that area and God’s healing touch will be free to move. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL CONTINUE TO PUT UP WITH THE FUTURE SINS OF OTHERS. GOD DOES NOT TOLERATE SIN NEITHER SHOULD YOU, DO NOT CONTINUE TO ALLOW YOURSELF TO ABUSED BY OTHERS. 

Take a stand against sin while continuing to exercise grace and forgiveness toward those who intentionally hurt you. You may need help in setting wise limits and boundaries to protect yourself from further abuse. 

Freedom is what you will gain right now, not necessarily an immediate change in feelings. Now that you are ready to begin the forgiveness journey, you have to start with the first person on your list, make the choice to forgive him/her of every painful memory and focus on the individual until you are sure you have dealt with all the recalled pains. As you are forgiving them, you might remember painful memories, that you might have forgotten and it might hurt you the more but the more it hurts the more free you becomes. As you continue through your list, keep say, Lord, I choose to forgive..

For every painful memory you have for each person on your list, pray aloud:

“Lord, today I choose to forgive ____(name the person)___ for __(say what they did to hurt you)_ even though it made me feel ____(share the painful feelings)____.

After you have forgiven each person for all the offenses that come to your mind and after you have honestly expressed how you felt, conclude your forgiveness of that person by praying aloud:

Lord, from today I choose not to hold any of these things against ___(name)____ any longer. I thank You for setting me free from the bondage of my bitterness toward __(name)___. I now ask You to bless ___(name)_____ in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

FREEDOM IN CHRIST: TRUTH AND DECEPTION

NUMBER TWO 

As a Christian, you already know that God’s Word is true and must be accepted in your innermost being. Psalm 51:6 (sincerity and truth are what you require; fill my mind with your wisdom). You should not have business in deceiving others by lying, exaggerating, telling white lies, stretching the truth or falsehood. The devil is a lair and father of all lairs, John 8:44 (you are the children of your father, the devil, and you want to follow your father’s desires. From the very beginning he was a murderer and has never been on the side of the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he is only doing what is natural to him, he is a lair and father of all lies). 

The devil is looking for people he will put in bondage through deceptions but the good news is the truth in Christ sets you free. You will find real joy/happiness and freedom in the truth as long as you stop living in lies. Psalm 32:1&2 (1, happy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned. 2, happy is the one whom the Lord does not accuse of doing wrong and who is free from all deceit.

You find strength when you walk in the light because you are sure God loves you and accepts you, so there’s no need hiding your sin and you must man up to face reality and never hide from painful circumstances or run. Remember good things are never easy so you have to work your way through and only depending on God’s strength.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I know that You want me to know the truth, believe the truth, speaking the truth and live in accordance with the truth. Thank You that it is the truth that will set me free. In many ways I have been deceived by Satan, the father of lies, and I have deceived myself as well.

Father, I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, by virtue of His shed blood and resurrection, asking You to rebuke all of Satan’s demons that are deceiving me. I have trusted in Jesus alone to save me, and so I am Your forgiven child. Therefore, since You accept me just as I am in Christ, I can be free to face my sin and not try to hide. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth. I ask You to “search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” In the name of Jesus, Who is the Truth, I pray. Amen.

Satan have many tactics to choose from when he is about to deceive people, remember his encounter with Eve, he is working over time trying to convince you to depend on yourself so you can force to obtain your needs through the world around you rather than trusting in God’s provisions.

The below examples will help open your eyes to the ways you have been deceived by the world system around you. 

WAYS YOU CAN BE DECEIVED BY THE WORLD

􏰀 Thinking that acquiring money and things will bring lasting happiness. 􏰀 Thinking that consuming food and alcohol excessively will make you happy. 􏰀 Thinking that a great body and personality will get you what you want. 􏰀 Thinking that gratifying sexual lust will bring lasting satisfaction. 􏰀 Thinking that you can sin and get away with it and not have it affect your heart. 􏰀Thinking that you need more than what God has given you in Christ.􏰀 Thinking that you can do whatever you want and no one can touch you.              􏰀Thinking that people can live a life of sin and still go to heaven.􏰀 Thinking that you can hang around bad company and not become corrupted. 􏰀 Thinking that there are no consequences on earth for your sin.           􏰀Thinking  that you must gain the approval of certain people in order to be happy.􏰀Thinking that you must measure up to certain standards in order to feel good about yourself. ▫️Thinking that the devil can use you to deceive others without you being in his bondage.▫️Thinking you can deceive people under you and get the approval of the world.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have been deceived by ___. I thank You for Your forgiveness and I commit myself to believing only Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s true you can deceive yourself even after you have been deceived by the world, false teachings or deceiving spirits. But thanks be to God that you are now alive in Christ Jesus, completely forgiven and accepted. Jesus Christ is now your defense so no need to defend yourself like you used to...check examples of how you can deceive yourself below. 

WAYS YOU CAN DECEIVE YOURSELF

􏰀 Hearing God’s Word but not doing what it says.

􏰀 Saying you have no sin. 􏰀 Thinking you are something you’re really not.  􏰀 Thinking you are wise in this world age. 􏰀 Thinking you can be truly religious but not bridle your tongue.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have deceived myself by __. Thank You for Your forgiveness. I commit myself to believing only Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In reality, it’ll be a difficult decision for you, if you have been believing lies for so long and every Christian needs to learn that Christ is the only defense he or she needs. Realizing that you are already forgiven and accepted by God through Christ will help free you to place all your dependence on Him. Faith is the biblical response to the truth in the word of God and believing God’s word is a necessity as a Christian. Sometimes it becomes a hindrance walking by faith in God because of been afraid or thinking He is mad at you for your sins but the truth is He loves and have accepted you. Romans 8:15 (for the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God’s children, and by the Spirit’s power we cry to our God, “Father! my Father!”).

Remember, rejecting the spirit of fear will help you to break the chains of those lies and enable you to begin to experience that intimate Abba Father relationship with Him. 1 Peter 1:8&9 (8, you love him, although you have not seen him, you believe in him, although you do not now see him. So you rejoice with a great and glorious joy which words cannot express. 9, but you are receiving the salvation of your souls, which is the purpose of your faith in him). To achieve all these, you must walk in the truth and reject deceptions which is the root of fears that plague your life. 1Peter 5:8 (be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the devil, roams around like a roaming lion, looking for someone to devour). The devil’s major tactic is to use fear to paralyze Christians, his intimidation is designed to rob Christians the faith in God. The devil uses his fear tactics/factor to weaken Christians and make them to become self-minded and cloud their mind to always having frightening thoughts. 

Depending on Jesus the Master of your soul in order to experience total freedom from bondage of fear and ability to walk by faith in God. 2 Timothy 1:7 (for the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I confess to You that I have listened to the devil’s roar and have allowed fear to master me. I have not always walked by faith in You but instead have focused on my feelings and circumstances. Thank You for forgiving me for my unbelief! Right now I renounce the spirit of fear and affirm the truth that You have not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. Lord, please reveal to my mind now all the fears that have been controlling me so I can renounce them and be free to walk by faith in You. I thank You for the freedom You give me to walk by faith and not by fear. In Jesus’ powerful name, I pray. Amen.

The below examples will  help you recognize some of the fears the devil has used to keep you from walking by faith and one by one renounce those fears and walk in liberty.

􏰀 Fear of becoming/being homosexual 􏰀 Fear of financial problems 􏰀 Fear of never getting married     􏰀 Fear of the death of a loved one 􏰀 Fear of being a hopeless case 􏰀 Fear of losing your salvation􏰀 Fear of having committed the unpardonable sin 􏰀 Fear of not being loved by God􏰀 Fear of never loving or being loved by others 􏰀 Fear of embarrassment􏰀 Fear of being victimized by crime 􏰀 Fear of marriage􏰀 Fear of divorce 􏰀 Fear of going crazy 􏰀 Fear of pain/illness   􏰀 Fear of the future 􏰀 Fear of confrontation􏰀 Fear of special individuals. List them:􏰀 Other specific fears that come to mind now:

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I renounce the ____ because God has not given me a spirit of fear and I choose to live by faith in God who has promised to protect me and meet all my needs as I walk by faith in Him, in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.

Faith is choosing to believe and act upon what God says, regardless of your feelings or circumstances. If you find our post helpful, you can choose to read it daily for several weeks to renew your mind with the truth, and replace any lies you might be believing.

CONCLUSION PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I thank You that You are trustworthy. I choose to believe You, even when my feelings and circumstances tell me to be fearful. You have told me not to fear, for You are with me; to not anxiously look about me, for You are my God. You will strengthen me, help me and surely uphold me with Your righteous right hand. I pray with faith in the name of Jesus my Master. Amen.

FREEDOM IN CHRIST. NUMBER ONE

CONFESSION 

In the name and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ we command Satan and all evil spirits to release their hold on you in order that you can be free to know and choose to do the will of God. As children of God, raised up and seated with Christ in the heavenly places, we agree that every enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ be bound. We say to Satan and all his evil workers that you cannot inflict any pain or in any way prevent God’s will from being done today in your life through the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We are going to share some relevant strategies for your liberation from the forces of darkness. 

Firstly, you must review the events of your life to discern the particular areas that you need to work on because the devil commonly takes advantage of believers and where strongholds are often built. For the fact your life has been purchased by Christ Jesus and life in Him guarantees freedom over sin. To enjoy this freedom life, totally depends on your confession, believe, forgive and renounce. You are responsible for the battle of your mind and your victory must be focus on the truth of the Word of God. 

Submitting to God inwardly is very vital and you must also resist the devil outwardly. Taking thorough inventory of your life in order to make a rock-solid commitment to the truth. You must be open, bold and honest in order to become right with God because He alone can give you the grace to make it through. Do not depend on your own strength but lean on God’s unfailing strength and wisdom. Remember do not allow yourself to become discouraged and give up because the freedom that Christ purchased for all believers on the cross of Calvary is meant for you!

NUMBER ONE: REAL AND COUNTERFEIT.

The right start to regaining your freedom in Christ Jesus is to renounce and reject all your past and present involvement with occult practices, cult teachings, rituals and non-Christian religions. You must be ready to renounce anything that denies Jesus Christ or gives you guidance through any source other than the absolute authority of the Bible. If you have been involved in any secret group that requires dark, initiations, ceremonial promises or pacts, you must renounce them.

CONFESSION: Lord, I ask You to bring to my mind anything and everything I have done knowingly or unknowingly that involves occult, cult or non-Christian teachings or practices. I want to experience Your freedom by renouncing these things right now. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Remember even  if you took part in something and thought it was just a game or a joke, you must renounce it, hence the devil is always looking for advantage or anything he can use against the believers, so it’s wise to be as thorough as possible. Remember even if you helped or watches as they do evil things, renouncing your passive involvement is essential. 

CONFESSION: Lord, I confess that I have participated in non-Christian teachings and I know that it was evil and offensive in Your sight. Thank You for Your forgiveness. I renounce any and all involvement with them and I cancel out any and all ground that the enemy gained in my life through this activity. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God created you to worship Him (the only true and living God) because as God’s children we must worship Him in spirit and in truth. The freedom from Christ gives understanding to know Him Who is true since you are already in the Son and God which guarantees eternal life.

The most important thing in your life becomes what you worship hence it occupies your thoughts, love, devotion, trust, adoration and obedience, it automatically becomes your God or god. (1 John 5:21) my children, keep yourself safe from false gods. Sometimes, you might not necessarily bow down to statues but it is easy for things of the world to subtly become your god instead of the Most High God. Today make up your mind to worship and serve the only true God.

CONFESSION: Dear Lord, I know how easy it is to allow other things and other people to become more important to me than You. I also know that this is terribly offensive to Your Holy eyes as You have commanded that I shall have no other gods before You. I confess to You that I have not loved You with all my heart and soul and mind and as a result I have sinned against You, violating the first and greatest commandment. I repent of and turn away from this idolatry and now choose to return to You, Lord Jesus, as my first love. Please reveal to my mind now any and all idols in my life. I want to renounce each of them and in so doing cancel out any and all ground Satan may have gained in my life through any idolatry. In the name of Jesus, the true God, amen.

As you confessed, the Holy Spirit will remind you the things that have becomes more important to you than the Almighty God. Which of the below mentioned have taken the importance of God in your life? Remember they becomes idols when they usurp God rightful place as Lord of your life, so recognizing and renouncing them is very important.

FREEDOM IN CHRIST JESUS!

We all know that freedom is so important that we do not negotiate it, though it’s not always easy gaining it but as Christians, our freedom is rooted in Christ Jesus. I will be sharing with you some strategies of gaining your freedom. 

What comes out from your mouth matters so much because in Romans 10:9–10, (9, if you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from death, you shall be saved. 10, For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. So your duty as a child of God is to always declare your victory over satan because the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ sets you free from bondage. Galatians 5:1 (freedom is what we have—Christ has set us free. Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourself to become slaves again). Receiving Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior already set you free from the corrupting system of this world. Christ’s freedom guarantees desires, power, love, joyful liberty, obedience and worshiping God in truth and holiness through the power of the Holy Spirit. In John 10:10, (the thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life—-life in all it’s fullness). 

Standing firm in faith and live according to who you are in Christ guarantees total freedom. It is your responsibility to do whatever it takes to walk in your freedom in Christ Jesus. As Christians, you are secured in Christ Jesus and your eternal life is not at stake if you are walking according to the truth but if you walk amassed, your daily victory is already at stake.

Your spiritual life might be facing tough challenges today but the good news, you are not a helpless victim but a victor. Have faith because you are not alone, the all powerful God is on your side and
don’t be afraid because Christ have defeated satan on the Cross of Calvary.

Remember the most dangerous weapon of the devil is making you to believe his lies, the Bible calls him a lair and the father of all lairs. Don’t believe that your situation is hopeless or you are helpless, remember in James 1:2–4 (2, my friends, consider yourself fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, 3, for you know when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. 4, Make sure that  your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing). Trials does not make you a sinner but it’s shows you are doing the right thing, remember temptations is not from God but from the  devil. You are tempted because you are a child of God, the devil does not tempted his own children because they are already secured in
his bondage, sooner than later he will start using them for sacrifices because he is a blood sucking demon.

The devil knows you already have authority over him in Christ Jesus
but he doesn’t want you to know it. If you keep believing his lies, he will continue to have control over you and don’t even think about his tactics and deceptions so that you don’t struggle in taking the right step to your freedom in Christ Jesus. Remember you already have authority in Christ so don’t give in to negative, accusing or threatening thoughts, instead keep praying your way out and the Holy Spirit will call the shots in your favor.

As believer in Christ, you can pray with authority to stop any interference by Satan because the victory is yours.

Dear Heavenly Father, We know that you are right here with us and that you are present in our lives right now. You are the only all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present God. We are completely dependent upon
You because without Jesus Christ we can do nothing. We choose to stand in the truth of Your Word and we refuse to believe the devil’s lies.
We thank You that the risen Lord Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth. 

Father, thank You that because we are in Christ we share His authority in order to make disciples and set captives free. We ask You to protect our minds and bodies during this time. Please fill us with the Holy Spirit so that He can guide us into all truth. We choose to submit to His guidance alone during this time. Please reveal to our minds everything that You want us to deal with today. We ask for and trust in Your wisdom. We pray all this in faith, in the name of Jesus. Amen🙏

CHILD’s RIGHTS.

 Hello 👋 everyone, welcome to our interesting topic CHILD’s RIGHTS.

The United Nation describes a child as human beings below eighteen (18) years and a child must have the same rights for freedom, freedom of speech/expression, basic education, shelter, health etc. But as Christians, we are all the children of the Most High and we have inherent talents, and our rights differs from this world. Our rights is based on the Word of God and the teaching of Christ Jesus. 

There are so many benefits in teaching the children how to serve God wholeheartedly and letting them know that their  our services to their neighbors/mates/peers must reflect on their  true characters because they are to love their mates/peers as they love themselves. Teaching them on these things will help them do better and live in a better world, though the world is divided and love is no longer love nor affection, rather it becomes a hostile/battle ground. 

But it doesn’t matter how the world look like, God’s children have the rights to flourish wherever they are planted, it’s not negotiable, because Christ foretold it, that in Him, we shall have peace but in the world, there’s tribulations. 

Building a safe world for the children, the society should be void of greed, jealousy, manipulation, insecurity, kidnapping, fraud, bribery etc... it’s true that children are gifts from God, and to make this world a better place for them, we must emulate peace, love, mercy, kindness, charity, joy etc.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.

Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck.

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.

Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. ‘Honor your father and mother.’ This is the first commandment with a promise: If you honor your father and mother, ‘Things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.

Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad.

I tell you the truth, ‘Anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.’ Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

And so I am sure confident that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.

Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

CHALLENGES OF RAISING GODLY CHILDREN 

We understand that it’s a tough challenge to raise a Godly child in our ungodly society today. Parents must be careful because the obvious truth is that if parents fail to teach their children the right values of life, then the society will teach them the opposite. Though most parents spend less time with their children because they are working very hard to balance the financial aspect of the family, they shouldn’t get carried away or forget the most important task, their children, whom they are laboring for. 

Below are some summaries;

(1) Time Factor: this is one of the biggest challenges in today’s parenting because both parents are working, and some parents already get home tired/stressed in the late hours when the children are already sleeping. Some dads work so hard that most times, they only see their children once a week or few times a month and thus giving the moms the hardest task of parenting, working, and handling household chores. 

(2) Fundamental Moral Values Decreases: most children today are taking abase by the society and making it difficult for them to differentiate between what is right or what is wrong. Most parents are already stocked in managing so much in a time-pressed schedule and finding time to teach the children the fundamentals moral values are decreasing, due to time factor, some parents allow some strangers to take care of their children while they’re at work without knowing the type of moral values these strangers impact on their children. 

(3) The smartphone (media technology): A lot of children today uses smartphone with internet connection and some parents does not monitor what these children are watching or reading on the internet. If the parents fail to keep close eyes 👀 on activities of the children, they might be watching/reading inappropriate content which may harm his/her development, remember everything are available on the internet today.

(4) Unbalanced Couples: The children suffers most when both parents are having some differences, some parents failing apart because they does not have time for themselves which makes them lost the true essence of life. Parents are doing everything to earn more money and in return they forgot the comfort, peace and happiness of family. When such things happens between parents and the children find themselves alone...,lacking the support of their parents, sometimes makes the children to feel inferior, intimidated. Some children are harassed, abused, molest/raped or used by these strangers and these children will not open up to the parents, because they lack confidence/communication. Sometimes, what these strangers does to the children in the absence of the parents is humiliating, yes, career is very important but ignoring children and other responsibilities cannot lead to a fulfilling life. 

(5) There Are No Trust And Understanding: When parents are close to the children, there are some excellent and emotional bonds between them. But it starts to depreciate when the parents are always away for work. Once children lack these bonds, it will be difficult for them to open up to their parents instead they will prefer to seek advice from strangers or partners in crime of these strangers and in return (strangers and their partners) are birds of the same feathers. As part of these, the children feel lonely, emotional wreck, to get the openness/sincerity of your children, parents must attached to them which will give them confidence to ask questions and communicate their needs.

(6) Deficiency In Nutritions: Yes, the parents are working so hard and earning more with the knowledge of good nutrition but most children today suffer from mal nutrition. Some parents prefer to give these children junk food rather than cooking themselves, due to time factor. The heavy use of chemicals and pesticides have deteriorated the nutritional value of the food. Some children, these days suffer from an increasing number of diseases and are seen to have weak immunity.

(7) Gadget usage is increasing: This is another big challenge for the parents because today’s children are always glued to their gadgets playing games. This generation doesn’t play outside like their 90’s counterparts, and these gadgets seem to have physical damage on their eyes sight. Most children today are becoming obese or overweight because they lack physical playing and stopping children from the screen exposures will help them regain their physical strength/balance and mental development.

(8) Peers Pressure: Over the years the peers seems to have impact on the development of their fellow children. Some peers become judgmental and in doing so putting pressure on their fellow children. You can be judged for not speaking well, intelligent, dressing and sometimes the affected children become shy and unable to socialize and it becomes tough for him/she to make friends. Things gets worse when the peers start bullying, mocking and isolated and when these becomes part of the children, it’s become difficult for the parents to handle. Parenting these days are getting tougher because there are so many issues to address, once the children start schooling, raging from fighting, aggression and making fun by their peers. 

(9) The Study Pressure: Most children today attend many lessons, most are involved in after school tutoring to help them better their mates/peers, in return it put the child in more pressure. Some children spend roughly 10 hours a day studying and it also affects the parents who will be helping them to revise the things they were taught. Taking and bringing them back from school and later the extra lessons are becoming increasingly difficult for the parents, which also add some financial burden to the parents. It’s true the  entire study system has evolved over time and to become competitive, children have to study and get the right results to survive the cutoff mark.

(10) Child Abuse Protection: Majority of today’s children are victims of sexual and physical abuse. The changing complexities of life have exposed children to different challenges like rape, harassment, gaslighting and murder which are alarming increasingly. Keeping a constant check on the children are vital for the parents even when they are playing with their mates, try to know their friends parents because it will help to protect and supervise them at every step. Making sure their friends parents have a positive attitude towards your children, because some people can be cruel especially when money is involved. The girls child needs extra protection and it’s not advisable sending them away without proper investigation and allowing them to go and play with the neighbors are no longer safe. Guarding the young girl against your male servant like gateman, driver, cook and some so called friends/family. The moral of the society is increasingly fading and it’s scary when you read about the dirty things happening to children.

The responsibilities of the parents have increased because they must protect their children from the media, technology, strangers since they are all threats for the child. To achieve the healthy upbringing of the children, parents must focus on or maintaining a constant watchdog on the children. Seriously, bringing up Godly children have been much more difficult for parents as well as children because these factors have raised the parenting stress manifold, and a lot of parents feel constant burnout due to the above-mentioned challenges.

MODELING GODLY CHILDREN

 Hello 👋, welcome, in this post, we will be discussing:

How to intentionally model your child to have good behavior.

We know that bringing up children of integrity, parents must intentionally model their children to have Christ-like behavior and manners of living. It’s true modeling your children to have Godly  behavior takes time and effort because parents cannot just wish or desire their children to have good behavior. It’s a walk and talk process which will help them develop the behavior that will bring joy to the parents.

Parents should not just hope that their children must have good behavior, if the parents fail to intentionally plan and execute on how to achieve it. Recognizing the important of good behavior will propel parents to have practical behavior lessons on the children, it will help the children to understand the body language which will help shape the children in the right direction. Having good behavior will not only going to make the children become excellent in their academics, careers and life but it will also bring honor to the parents. Parents must choose to see the best in their children and stay connected to them even when they act unlovable. 

Parents shouldn’t assume that taking the children to church or Sunday school will automatically develop good behavior in them. Homeschooling the child  on developing good behavior, sometimes does not guarantee the child is going to start having the desired behavior the parents want, parents must constantly pray for their children because with prayers, efforts and determination, parents can be sure to bring up children of great value. 

Parents should know that nobody knows the children better than they do, taking this into consideration, parents should realize this as an opportunity to nurture their children in Godly ways, knowing that nobody will ever love the children like them.

Parents should not get discouraged when their children exhibit a negative behavior knowing that we are living in behavior crisis society where all manner of things are done. It takes a great parents to intentionally plan on how to help the children develop good behaviors. Parents should also be excited about raising a generation of young people with good, strong Christian character.

BENEFITS OF GODLY CHILDREN 

Over the years, we have known that the most important priorities of a parent is to teach their children to have good behavior, because it paves way for their success since it will give them the zeal of diligence, perseverance, integrity, and ability to work hard. 

The truth is God gave us (parents) the opportunity to impact good behaviors in our children because it will make them standout both in their academics and every of their activities. Parents should get excited about this great privilege and do their utmost best in raising a generation of young people with good characters.

Since, nobody knows our children better than us (parents) and with our unconditional love towards our children, we are the best suited for bringing out the best in our children. God giving them to us is another priority for us to learn how to discipline them with love and build their confidence in serving the Lord.

STEPS TO APPLY:

 (1) Parents must model themselves with good behavior. We know that it’s easier for kids to learn from our behavior (walk) than talk. If the parents portray good character then the children can emulate them, remember most of the characters a child display, they learn it from the parents so the parents should strive hard to live an extraordinary lifestyle making God the head of all. 

(2) Know your child’s role model.  Parents can easily identify the role model of a child through the song 🎧 he/she listen to or sing regularly, the books they read, the movies they watch or even the posters in their bedroom. Studying the Bible together will help them  chose from many Christian biographies as their role model which will shape their life in Godly direction.

(3) The more parents put God’s word into their children the better for them because we know that everything starts from the inside.. It’s very important parents purposefully teach the children how to improve their life through the word of God, once they have God’s word in their mind, they will always think God’s thoughts.

It’s true that thoughts leads to actions, which develop into habits, and finally  grows into character. The right ways to give a child a positive thoughts is by daily studying the word of God together and teach them how to use the Word. Let your child find joy in reading and memorizing scriptures and singing gospel songs.

(4) Correction and training must base on the scriptures. It’s true good things are not always easy because today’s world has changed. It’s easier to get discouraged by a bad behavior of a child but the bad behavior is an opportunity to bring them closer to God’s word and correct them with some bible’s truth. Teach your child to find answers in the Bible because it will help build their confidence and trust.

(5) Schedule times for behavior lessons. Having daily lessons on Godly behavior, teaching them the meaning of the behavior traits as you study. For examples, consider biblical practices and show them how to use it in their everyday lives.

(6) Prayers. It is one of most powerful things parents can do for their children because praying God’s word back to Him for the children, guarantees His power in their lives. As parents correct and teach their children to have good behavior, parents need to work as if it all depends on them, always praying and depending on God. Parents need to be faithful in praying for their children.

8 Tips Of Raising Godly Child 🧒

 👉We know that 21st century is definitely a changing world and parenting has to be intentional. So raising Godly children must be careful put into consideration especially as it will not just happen. Spiritual Parenting is about your duty as a spiritually-minded parent, that the duty the Almighty God give you.

Below are 8 tips for good Parenting.👇

1. Teach your child to have confidence in himself/herself.

Teach your child that he/she is unique. Let him/her know that he/she is created with inherent values, talents, and skills. Do not compare your child with other children and avoid harsh criticism. Teach your child that God loves him/her and so do you.

2. Teach your child to value and respect others.

Once he/she begin to realize that he/she is unique, you should also teach him/her to learn to respect and value others irrespective of his/her status in life. It is good to let him/her know that he/she is privileged. Do not forget to remind him/her that privileges have responsibility and the need to be respectful.

3. Letting your child know that he/she is called to lead and not to follow.

From early stage let him/her that there’s nothing wrong to say NO and to be different. You must train him/her to have confident with leadership and also stand for what he/she believe in. Teach your child the principles of HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Let him/her know that true leaders also serve people.

4. Setting boundaries very early in his/her life is very important.

His/her liberty should be increased on the basis of his/her sense of responsibility. Remember appropriate rewards for exemplary responsibility will encourage your child. Don’t give him/her everything he/she wants so he/she doesn’t grow up with a negative mindset of entitlement. Teach him/her to have and set boundaries. Setting up a strict bedtime routine is one such example that needs to be followed without fail. He/she should be taught to trust God who provides and pray for his/her needs.

5. Them To Be Discipline (Punitive and Non-Punitive).

Do not use anger to discipline your child and avoid making empty threats. Let there be a balanced approach to discipline. For instance, as your child grows older, you should learn to communicate/reason more and punish less.

Even if you want to punish him/her it must be proportionate to his/her wrongdoing. Discipline must be consistent and avoid sending conflicting signals. When done right, positive discipline should create intimacy and not distance. In such situations, your child knows how to come back to you and apologize.

6. Always keep the Lines of Communication open.

When talking to your child, don’t be alarmed at whatever you hear. Don’t be judgmental, keep an open mind. Stay calm and give practical answers as much as possible. Knowing his/her friends and families of his/her friends is vital. When your child feel comfortable talking to you, then you can point him/her in the right direction prayerfully.

7. Build a safe village around them.

We know it takes a village to raise a child. Teach him/her how to avoid inappropriate touches from anyone and to speak up if it ever happens. Tell him/her that his/her bodies are his/hers and that his/her body is a temple of God.

8. Model what you want them to learn.

Finally the most important aspect of good parenting, don’t be different from what you are trying to teach your child. Remember your child will tend to mirror what he/she see, rather than listen to what you tell him/her. So it is important for you to walk your talk. To truly raise godly child, you must exhibit the right values. Most importantly, let him/her see you pray, encourage him/her to join you. Let him/her learn what love is from how you treat people.

Our duty as parents are to teach our children the difference between ‘want and need’. It is vital for them to understand the difference from a tender age.

A wants are some desires like goods, services, feelings, and other things we would like to have but do not necessarily need it/them.

A needs are things we must have to survive, such as food, water, and shelter.

If we can teach them these things, they will be able to make the right decisions when they becomes adults. We will keep sharing some tips in our post but before then watch this video 👇

You Are Qualified

What did you call yourself? Have you allowed situations to name you ‘average or failure’? Have you allowed enemies brand you ‘not good enough’ or you have believed that your past mistakes are enough evidence that you are not going to fulfill your destiny. We all know that the enemies (devil) are like a roaming loin seeking whom to devour, so you shouldn’t believe his lies, tactics and don’t be afraid of him. The devil is limited so does his power.

The ‘Most High’ is still on the throne, He rules the universe and control whatever happens, He is unlimited God, the Creator of Heaven and earth. God is gracious and kind, He calls you Royal and have qualified you to be a partaker in the kingdom of light (dear Son). Don’t bother about your past because there a great reward for coming to Christ. He promised that if your burden is heavy, He yoke is lighter and soft. This is a reality because His promises never fail, for what He promised, He will do.

When you pass through challenges, He is there with you because He never leaves nor forsake His people. You can trust your life with Him, though you might have made some mistakes in the past, but the truth He is a merciful God and does not count your sins against you, once you repent, you are forgiven, not because of your work but because of the finish work of Christ.

You are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for the good work, so your duty is to save others too. There are so many people whom the devil has caged, he has blinded them that they are finding it difficult to escape, these types of people, knows the truth but because of minor benefits, they become partakers with the evil one. Your duty as the ‘Redeemed’ is to preach Christ to them and the Power of His resurrection, you are to snatch them out from the power of darkness to the Kingdom of Christ.

You have  got the ability/power to do so because you have been vested with authority in Name of Jesus Christ. ‘At the mention of His Name, everything bows’, it doesn’t matter what they are, the Name of Jesus is so powerful. Today I want you to think about how to help that brethren to be saved, make it your goal and God will increase your strength and wisdom.

What are the best ways to express our love towards one another? Is it by saying the word *I love you* continuously or by acting love? People’s words sometimes mean the opposite but actions actually help us to identify true love. 

But there’s no love without sacrifice, the perfect love is Jesus Christ. Despite being holy and without sin, He was crucified for our sins and the embodiment of our peace was upon Him, that’s why He foretold us that in this world, we are going to have tribulations but we must be of good cheer for He have overcome the world.

Just like Christ overcame the world through love, we too can imitate Him ( He’s our role model in doing good because as He is, so we are in this world). Though we live in an evil world where people cherish doing bad than good. We can still achieve love, peace in this world, by acting like our Father in heaven, Who’s generous enough to send rain/sunshine to the just and unjust.

Love is the perfect price and God is love. If we love God, it’ll be easy to practice love but if we don’t, there are numerous excuses to choose from, and these excuses will profit us nothing. Let’s be kind towards everyone because we never know what people are going through. Let’s be the light we want to see in the world 🌎 and together we will put to shame the works of the evil one.
